Guest exodus842 Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Just read this on PcPro seems interesting :) http://www.pcpro.co.uk/news/news_story.php?id=39332
Guest Myke Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 The device will be available on the high street from next week, but pricing has yet to be announced.
Guest mik_an Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 This was announced in a newsletter from O last week in Denmark as i wrote in : http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=4589 with pricing.
Guest Vector Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Can't wait :) Got to find the money from somewhere, i only have a fiver
Guest vampyre69 Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 not sure i like it... ...looks to pushy pokey on the keys, as in not very sturdy might have to press a couple of times to register. - I beleive other material options are available... 1) Denim - For the casual user. 2) Prada Suit - For the business user 3) Hawain Shirt - For the holiday maker and the millionaire  4) And Rubber - For the fetish user. Seriously though...Gimmie the 'zig' fold-out palm style keyboard any day, actually somewhere on here there was talk about it and I spoke to a chap the other day that works for the team who drafted up the keyboard for the handspring and they are considering adapting it for the spv :)
Guest Emad Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 What we really need is something like the ericsson chatboard - now that was a class accessory..
Guest Bazz Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 It's a phone!!!!!! Get a laptop if you need a keyboard, for Gods sake.
Guest vampyre69 Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 It's a phone!!!!!! Get a laptop if you need a keyboard, for Gods sake. I kinda agree abit excessive all this. But saying that I might get a 20gb hard drive and the P4 mobile processor upgrade kit for my spv.
Guest Richie M Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 But saying that I might get a 20gb hard drive and the P4 mobile processor upgrade kit for my spv. :) have you got a link   :?
Guest Hawkes_TFS Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 It's a phone!!!!!! Get a laptop if you need a keyboard, for Gods sake. I understand what you're saying but just because you aren't going to buy one doesn't mean no one else will. If there were no demand for this type of product then I can't see why a company would be producing it unless they liked losing money  The mere fact that this thread exists and that people are looking at it means quite a few folks are going to be taking a trip to their nearest orange shop when this comes out. Just my thoughts... Hawkes.
Guest Vector Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 I will certainly be buying one ( when i have enough money). It would be much easier for typing texts/emails and inserting internet addresses. And i have seen ALOT of people asking for akeyboard since the phone came out.
Guest Bazz Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Oh totally agree. Just in my opinion - as others were stating theirs on the design, I stated mine on the concept ;-)
Guest able Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 The keyboard is very light and comes in a leather case which is just rolls up into. The only downside is that it offers not feedback to the user when pressing a letter..
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 How big is it, rolled up, Able? How are your brothers Baker and Charlie, by the way?
Guest Playdoh Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 it's about the size of a large wallet - stuffed full of fifty's of course  Seriously though, it's a pretty decent size for what it does, quite light and suprisingly usable
Guest Pagemakers Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 It look awful - A nice compact roll-up rubber keyboard would have been better.
Guest skimask Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 Anyone got a pic o this thing? I had a quick look on the Eleksen website but no joy
Guest SirGaz Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 The link to a pic is on page 1 of this very thread.
Guest spacemonkey Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 Another brief article and a nicer pic of the device can be seen here: http://www.infosyncworld.com/news/n/3223.html It looks like it's not actually too large and definitely designed to roll up.
Guest mcwarre Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 Ora have it for sale; next shipment due in in 3 weeks. A bit pricy at £59.99 + delivery!!
Guest squall Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 sont see to much point without word on the phone. although you could type into notbad and copy it over on the pc i suppose. Wait a few weeks and you will get it for £20 on ebay! :)
Guest Richie M Posted March 15, 2003 Report Posted March 15, 2003 And heres a picture of it all rolled up (? packed away) :)clavier2.jpg
Guest Kizeron Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 I found one with an SPV next to it. I think the keyboard is way too big. :)SPVandKeyboard.jpg
Guest Gorskar Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 whoa what a crazy picture - someone has doctored that for sure: This is the real one! :)spvandkeyboard2.jpg
Guest Jeeves Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 LMAO @ Gorkstar & Kizeron BTW if Gorkstar is indeed correct (like i suspect ;)) then the keyboard will be a good 2-3 metres high (ie. u'd be lucky to get it into your house!!!). It could have a dual function as a portable bus shelter :) The keyboard itself looks very promising (if its lighter then a man!). the only thing i think they could have put on would have been a nice trackerball for quake, which would have been the icing on the cake.bus shelter.JPG
