Guest yatpeak Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Hi, Could anyone tell me what file types you can view in Speed Reader? Thanks, Wyatt
Guest PsychoDave Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 As far as I know its just txt files. Seems there was a bit of confusion about the format of them. Try here for more info: http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic...ht=speed+reader
Guest silverback Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 When I try using Speed Reader, after about 20-25 words I find that it starts to drag and miss words, making totaly unreadable. Any ideas whats up?
Guest timodonnell Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 mine only started doing this *after* the trial period was up - is yours the full version or the trial? Tim
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003    I never did finish that macro, did I? Oh, the shame of it. I'll get back on it. On the topic of this thread, I have not bought it (in the end, went back to paper books or reading on the thinkpad), and I do not see this degraded behavious you describe.
Guest silverback Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Thanks for your replys, Its the FULL version and it is registered.
Guest mattat Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 As far as people know does the Smartphone version of the library software actually work now then - this didn't seem to be clear in the other thread
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Mine doesn't. Hence the fiddling around with the files in word...
Guest Emad Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 I tried the trial but also had the word skipping problem, otherwise I'd go and buy the thing (reallly need an ebook reader as I've just got rid of my palm).
Guest DigitalNome Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 The word skipping problem has been fixed in the latest version on the Handango site. It was due to a new power save feature on the SPV update that makes the phone go into sleep mode. HTC was contacted and the problem was resolved. It works great now
Guest DigitalNome Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 Opps forgot to answer the top question. Speed Reader Plus can read any file that can be viewed with a document viewer (like word) that supports copy and paste. Just use the Library Utility (installed on your PC) to copy and send the file to your phone for reading. This way you can read document like Word, PDF, Excel, TXT, and from the internet by copying document like ebooks from Internet Explorer. I hope that helps with file types. The Library Utility is also very fast so it only takes a few seconds to send entire books to the phone. ;)
Guest yatpeak Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 How does it read an Excel spreadsheet? Thanks, Wyatt
