Guest mobillars Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 I really need some other way of de-cert. my phone as orange had it updated with ver. 1.3.6.24 which cannot be de-cert. with the usual method since the phone won't accept any changes in the file, it won't load it in to the rom, thought maybe you could change oranges installer, like pasting an edited mxip file in so that it would load the de-cert. one instead of their originally file. Can I go back to some older software? tried the UK one but still no luck getting it de-cert. Any helpo would be appreciated
Guest Richie M Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Did the UK update go on your phone? If so that can be de-certed just takes time, practice :)
Guest Gorskar Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 But the winCE version will presumably still be the same as the DK update, and it is this which is stopping you from decerting. Your best bet is to 1)Apply the old DK update (if you cant find a copy I can email it to you - its big at 11MB though. PM me with your email address if you need this) This is a full rom image, so everything will be restored to old versions. 2)Decert as normal. Make a backup of the IPSM folder to a SD card (this thread might be useful for this. 3)Re-apply the new update 4)Use the USBterm program to restore the old bootloader. (see this thread and this link ) 5)restore your IPSM backup to the phone As you can see this is unfortunatly a fairly complicated method, which has been made complicated by the security changes made by both microsoft to activesinc, and HTC to the bootloader. (and of course Orange for app locking the phone in the first place)
