Guest pippo64 Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 I have setup the number of vocal mail but when i turno off the phone the number it's alwais that 888 of Orange. I normally use with my network operator..
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Now that is really strange, because I had to force mine to store 888, it didn't have it OOTB... which came as a surprise I might add. Which country is the phone from and which updates, if any, have you applied?
Guest pippo64 Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 I buy the phone in france, it's sim unlocked because i use in italy with italian operator. Software version is: Radio 1.24.00 Operator 1.3.6.5 Productor:1.3.6.5 MIcrosoft: 3.0.12255.0 Language:1.3.6.5 File system 3.0.12255.0
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Ok, so the french update has been applied, I have the exact same software versions. Lemme play with it and see if I can reproduce this behaviour.

Guest Syvwlch Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 You are correct. When I go to Settings>Telephony>Call Options>VoiceMail Number for Line 1 and change it to 123, when I hold down the "1" key, it calls 123. A power cycle later, it calls 888. I suggest the best thing to do is to create a shortcut on another key to the number of your voicemail, and give up on key "1". Alternatively, you can whip out RegEdit and have a play with it :)

I want try change RegEdit but i don't know how. Thanks for you disponibility.
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 I'm sorry, I was not clear. You can make a shortcut on key "2" to your voicemail, until we find a fix for key "1". That is a workaround :) Do not change anything with RegEdit if you don't know how, you can break the phone. I will take a look, and I'm sure others will as well. Some of us live in RegEdit. Clearer? Would French be an easier language for you?
Guest pippo64 Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 I have already use the position "2" and i like use the position "1" for the voicemail. I know it's dangerous to change regeedit bit i want try to do it. How and wath i have to changhe. Sorry but i don't speak french.
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Pippo, The fix does not exist yet. If it did, I would guide you thru a RegEdit hack if that was required. At the moment, I'm looking in RegEdit to see if I can find a fix. Also, in this thread, another possible solution is mentioned : a shortcut in the Start Menu. I will try this too. Have faith, and patience. :)
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 BTW, could a moderator move this Help & Advice, we might get more attention on this problem that way? :)
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 OK moved just for you. for now if this is a bug it will return to bugtrack later. Ashley
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Thanks, Ashley! Not making any headway on this. I hope more people with better brains than mine will look at this post here. The phone grabs some settings from the network before you see that Call Options page. I don't think it gets the Vmail number from there, as I don't remember my previous phones doing that. Still, anybody think different? Also, there are a lotta users using this phone on other networks, is everyone seeing this, or just us French-SPV users?
