Guest Wingers Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 I've got a new SPV (With update) and am thinking about unlocking it to use all aplications (not another network) i would have guessed that this would invalidate my insurance & warenty but am not sure. Does anyone know what the situation is or has anyone had their phone replaced after unlocking it? Wingers
Guest Gorskar Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 No, As far as I'm aware it does not affect waranty. You are not doing anything dodgy - simply making a slight modification to a text file, and remember that certification can easily be restored just by doing another hard reset.
Guest Wingers Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Cheers, looks like i'm gonna try to unlock it now then - sounds like its a bit fiddly :? Wingers
Guest Bazz Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Also been discussed here: http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=4701 Well worth it though IMHO as certifying apps seems to take forever...
