Just spoke Orange representative. No new SPV soon.

Just spoke to a nice lady at Orange. I asked her specifically about the new E100... she said it is not on her system as a phone to be launched within the immediate future. She read out four or five phones and none included the SPVE100.

now, it may well be true about it not coming soon (all is speculation at the moment, and T3 have put another spanner in the works by advertising it for April apparently), but, O won't know anyway, they even denied knowledge of the original SPV when that was due for launch.

But, it is looking as though it could be August/September, which by my reckoning could be too late cos the 200mhz phones will be out. However, even if the 200mhz phones are out, the E100 could be launched as an alternative entry level 'cheap' phone, who knows, we dont, and neither do Orange.

Yeah, Orange know nothing, i brought my SPV 2 dyas after the release from CPW, then phoned Orange to see what deals they were doing and they told me it wasn't available yet :? She was a bit embarrased when i told her i was calling her from one :lol:

the tanagers gonna be released somewhere in europe as a test site like they did with the denmark update dunno bout the other models tho

At the Modaco meet i asked the orange rep, and although he appeared a little befuddled to be put on the spot, he said, definitively, "the SPVx will be released within 4-6 weeks in the UK, and i won't be more precise than that".

He was a nice guy.

Paul said that it's more likely to be 6 weeks than 4, because they tend to roll out in smaller countries before UK.

Hence, i'm living with a Motorola for now, and hating every second :lol:

When O decided to cancel orders for SPV and renegotiate for Tanager, the manufacturer has to reorder different components....there's a big lead-time. Also, there's other people in the queue for the Tanager before O, so April looks highly unlikely.......at least from where I'm sitting :roll:

Not sure about the phone your waiting for but Orange deny every phone untill it comes out. I've been with Orange for 5 years and the last three phones I bought were only just out. I was calling orange once a week from when the phones were available on Vodafone & cellnet (O2).

They just don'tr release any info on forthcoming phones. never have! Sad really. :lol:
