A little new'ish tweak for you [speedy speed-dial] ;)

Well, this is not actually that new (was in my very first registry tweaks topic), but don't think it's been given enough attention. You all know the ability to set character timeout in Accessibility to 1/2 sec. But to expand on that, go to:

HKCUControlPanelAccessibility

Here you can set:

- CharTimeout (CTO)

- HoldTimeOut (HTO)

- SHBoxTimeout (STO)

CTO can be modified to min 1/2 sec in accessibility settings.

HTO cannot be modified in settings; it affects the time you have to hold a button for it to perform a "secondary function" (speed dial, extra characters box etc.).

STO is a confirmation timeout and can be modified in accessibility (5, 10, 20, none). I think it also affects boxes like "Message sent", please expand on that if you have more info.

Mine are as follows atm and I find it a big difference to default settings:

CTO: 400 [default 1000 or 500]

HTO: 350 [default 850]

STO: 5000 [default]

I guess this is in miliseconds, so 500 = 0.5 = 1/2sec

I would probably reduce it happily even more, but for occasions when you need to SMS in an unstable condition [ie: drunk] that proves to be very difficult.

i was having a look at this on the train on the way home tonight.

yes... 500 equals 500ms etc.

settings in the micro second range will be handy for those mornings at work when I have overdosed on coffee.

A little off topic, but relevant.

The post above was done via my SPV in my local. When it had sent, TWO posts appeared in the main window, plus my status had been elevated to 'diehard'.

When I got home a short time later and checked this thread, equilibrium had been restored - just one post and my status set as 'enthusiast'.

Whys that then?

TSCRYPTO, you somehow doubleposted in this thread and so I removed one of the msgs. I guess that explains it
