Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Nice I've been waiting for some of these :) I like the idea of the pocket travel dictionary very good for going around Europe from a UK point of view.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 English - Dutch should be standard issue to moderators of this board, you never can tell what those Dane's are talking about :)
Guest Vector Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Yeah agree with you there Mono, it might be something useful their talking about
Guest Bazz Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Cool that they do Demos too. English - Dutch should be standard issue to moderators of this board, you never can tell what those Dane's are talking about :) Omdat zij Deens en niet Nederlands praten!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 I'm going to go  but I thought Dutch and Danish would be different, may be not alot but still. I feel like Jade from big brother now  someone help me here
Guest Bazz Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Very different. Dutch is like German and English with a little French thrown in for good measure. Danish? No idea, but they use funny letters!
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Droevige Oops! Stom van me :/. Kon ik geen manifestatie door de manier overal ook niet vinden?
Guest Vector Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Exactly what i was thinking, good point
Guest Simon Desser Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Sorry if I'm being thick, but if Paul hadn't posted these links, how would one find them in the "normal" way (ie. Looking at Orange / Handango sites)??
Guest Bazz Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Sorry if I'm being thick, but if Paul hadn't posted these links, how would one find them in the "normal" way (ie. Looking at Orange / Handango sites)?? Wait for Handango to put links up for them. Try to go to links and discover Handango has taken them down again. Wait for them to put the links back up again. Repeat...
Guest amo Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Woohoo! Smartcheckers!!!!! Has anyone got this? Whats the verdict on it?
Guest davidhorn Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 AIM has given me an alpha copy of G-Pod to preview. It's a pretty good game - definitely going to be good on SmartPhone. Read the preview here: http://www.smartgamer.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=68
Guest clivewilliams Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 Woohoo! Smartcheckers!!!!! Has anyone got this? Whats the verdict on it? Well, I bought Smartello (I love Othello/Reversi) - it's very professionally put together - graphics and music (in a board game?) are good though it takes up about 1MB of memory as a result  The game engine is (IMHO) a bit weak - it plays some somewhat dodgy moves in the endgame, even at the hard level - I'd be interested in knowing what algorithm it's playing. I've also had it bomb out on me sometimes when starting a new game at the Hard level. Still for £3.50, you really really can't go wrong with it, can you? I'm still working on an Othello game myself - it won't have the graphics this one has, and won't be app-cert'ed, but hopefully I can come up with a stronger game engine. It's really a lets-learn-Smartphone-programming exercise for me, before I do something hard, like try porting one of the Pocket PC Chess games... Cheers, Clive
Guest kevlar Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 Bloody Hell, someone who knows how to play Othello :) Kevlar
Guest Richie M Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 Clive - you can always play Game Boy Chess with GNUBoy :)
