Guest ashley.flynn Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Ive spent some time creating a set of tools and games and integrated them into a kind of website to run on the phone. Basically it is mostly just a load of javascript apps but some are pretty useful i have added the help file as an attachment. All the details of what is actually in the suite are in there. I think this has a big potential so if any1 has any ideas of other JS + HTML based applications drop me a mail and, if possible, ill add it to the suite. Because these files are basically just text files, there is no need for decertification and it should work on all SPV's no problem. Instructions to install; Unzip the file SmartSuite.zip to /storagecard/SmartSuite/ and create a shortcut of SmartSuite.htm in you start menu Hope someone finds this of useSmartSuite.ziphelp.zip
Guest jaknife2000 Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Nice idea there. I did do something similar, only not to the same scale as you did there. Only problem i had was when unzipping the files. In the SmartSuiteFiles.zip it unzipped the files to a "passed" folder, and the help.zip a "help" folder. Once i looked at the source and moved them over, all works nice. Shame a couple of them are too big for the screen, but i guess not much you can do about that, i might have a play with font sizes and that to make them fit slightly better, but NICE all the same. Cheers
Guest ashley.flynn Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 damn! yeah your right. Ok for anyone else, create a folder named 'SmartSuite on the Storage Card and copy over the files that are in the 'passed' folder Sorry about that.. Yeah there are quite a few design problems, anything you can do to help is greatly appreciated.
Guest fraser Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Nice tool! Could you do one thing tho...make the paths in the SmartSuite.htm files as absolute, not relative? I never put shortcuts in the root of the start menu (ugh!), I have everything sorted into folders (so I never see "9 more" on any menu. When putting this file into a folder, I had to search and replace "../../../" with "../../../../". If you were to hardcode this to "/Storage Card/SmartSuite", then it would be easier. But wait, I've just had a double take on this...what would be even better would be to have the SmartPhone.htm file in the /Storage Card/Smartphone directory, then make the Start Menu shortcut a link to this file. Then upgrading the tool would only require the extraction of one zip file, and it would work in any directory. :)
Guest ashley.flynn Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 sorry i was born this stupid you know :). Have changed the installation to this much better system
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Why does this good stuff always come out when I don't have access to a Sync Cable? :) Can't wait to try it looks great, Ashley.
Guest jaknife2000 Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Ashley, You don't mind me adjusting some of your stuff do you ? I have so far adjusted the html down to the Cosine form. Basically, i have NOT taken out any of your email like stuff down the bottom, even tho it is a tad of a pain and often just blows it over a single page. All i have done is played around with the spacing and locations of the fields, so that it displays better on the SPV screen. When i have done the lot, if you want i can email you them back, and then if you like you can post them back on here, and of course if you don't then don't, but if you don't i would still like to keep them on my phone. Cheers.
Guest MISMan Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 I would give it a better name. When I saw this originally, I thought: "Who would take the time to port that darned Lotus application to the Smartphone"
