Guest clicker_gr Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 Hi there, :) I look through the posts and could track this one down, so there you go... I made some changes to the phone based on instructions from other modaco members. Some include, ringtones in the DS card, registry tweaks, program instalations to the SD card, etc. All went fine, the phone was faster etc... BUT! :!: I powered it off, put it on the charger and the next day when I powered it on, only the skin/home screen was there!!! The links for the installed programs give an error message (can't find program or something...), the ringtones where back to the original "bleaps" and generaly it wen't all crazy... So, the obvious question is... do you know how I can make the changes permanent? thnx in advance and well done for a great forum PS. I apologize if I reposted the same question, but I'm at work and can't afford a more in depth search through the whole forum...
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 The changes should be permanent, at least most of them. Certainly installed software. Sometimes, it loses track of the card, and you have to pop it out and then back in. Perhaps also a reboot, I can't remember. It did this to me once, a long while ago.
Guest clicker_gr Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 Thnx Syvwlch!!! Seems you're right! I re-entered the SD card and the programs seem to work like a charm :) (although I kinda pooped them up trying to understand what the heck was wrong). I'll have to re-enter the registry settings though, 'cause after the restart, the registry keys changed back to normal.
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 Now that is weird too. Unless it's the Ringtone repeat hack? That one gets reset when you change the ringing profile (resets to the profile's default settings).
Guest Lojt Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 I have had this happen to me once. Lost all my settings after a restart. Shouldn't happen everytime you reboot though :)
Guest clicker_gr Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 You're right Syvwlch. It is the ringtone repeat hack. Is there any way that we can make the change perminent or even better incorporate it toy the profile's default settings?
