The joys of the P800 for anyone thinking of buying one

I have had the P800 a week now and cannot understand all the SPV vs P800 posts on here. In my opinion there not even comparable, the P800 is so far ahead of the SPV its embarassing.

The user interface is a joy to use with applications working together seamlessly. It hasn't crashed at all and runs smoothly.

Video is smoother, the headphones sound a lot better too.

GPRS seems to work very well on this phone, even now since the update GPRS still occasionally crashes the SPV.

It has a proper task manager with editable tasks, alarms and prioritys.

Multiple email accounts and i can send attachments.

I could go on but all i can say is anyone who has just 'read' about it go and try one at a shop. Then buy it. You can take it back within 14 days remember if you dont like it :) If your not hooked on it within 2 days ill be amazed.

I to am fed up with SPV vs P800 post on here, i'm sure http://www.modaco.com/p800/ would be the place to post this as this is "SPV/Tanager - Main" not "SPV/Tanager/P800 - Main".

See, up till that point I thought this might be a sensible post, but then it just turned into the start of yet another thread that will have people ranting back relatively uninformed pro SPV and pro P800 posts.

The reason they are not even comparable is because they are quite a different class of device.

MOST IMPORTANT COMPARISON:

If you want something with a large touchscreen with functionality that is more like a PDA, and you want to enter loads of info right on the device, then get a P800. It's a great device and fits this form.

If you want something small and phone like with a smaller non-touchscreen, and the only text entry you want to do on it is maybe some contact maintenance and smsing, then get a SPV. It's also a great device and fits this form.

See, I personally want a SPV because that's what suits me and what I'm after, but I don't have to tell all the P800 owners to go suck eggs to say that, but similarly, I don't need pro P800 people coming on here and telling me that the SPV is rubbish, cos it's DESIGNED FOR A DIFFERENT PURPOSE.

(and this post is why I should sleep more and drink less caffiene)

I totally agree SpaceMonkey - one just has to look at the market.

Microsoft is taking on the PDA market with the PocketPC OS and has pretty much defined a new market with Smartphone 2002. So how can the two be compared?

Ok i ranted on a bit i agree, the point of my post was to encourage people who have bad views on the P800, without having actually tried it, to actually try it out because i think they will like it a lot
