Hi mbro

Oops, it should say 'Connects to : MMS connection' (not The Internet). This would only affect you receiving MMS and not sending.

To successfully send MMS you just need the correct APN, username and password (+ the IP gateway and MMSC address in the MMS software.)

If you replace the username and password with tmobilemms do you still get an error when you send ?

Also have you confirmed that T-mobile has activated MMS on your account ?

Create GPRS connection.

Description: T-Mobile MMS

After months trying out all the different settings for O2, here is what has worked for me:

Proxy Connections:

name: 02 Wap Proxy

Connects from: The Internet

Connects To: WAP Network

Proxy: 193.113.200.195

Type:WAP

Click done

Dial Up connections:

name: o2 CSD

Connects to: The Internet

Country code:44

Dial code: 7712

Phone num:927927

username: o2wap

password:password

Click done

GPRS connections:

name: o2gprs

Connects to: The internet

Access point: payandgo.o2.co.uk

username:payandgo

password:password

Click done

In Data Connections:

Internet connection is set to o2 CSD

WAP Connection set to o2 GPRS

Click done

Under options make sure my desktop connects to The internet

In IE under options,connections... make sure automatically detect settings is checked. Select network=The Internet

These settings will use WAP for Http address and GPRS for WSP address

I have just bought an online O2 pagy sim, and have configured the setting as per above.

Strangely, I can access the www.o2.co.uk website, but if i try and go to any other page, it says "Finding Site..." for a while and then gives up, sayinh "the page you are looking for cannot be found".

I also am unable to connect to collect my emails at the moment, it just says "Connecting..." at the top, although my Tywx Imeter gprs monitor shows theonnection as open in both instances...

Once this is working, does anyone know what the SMTP setting would be for sending emails, as i guess that smtp.orange.net will no longer work!

any help gratefully received.

many thanks;

From other information found on this site, I think that my problem with only being able to connect to www.o2.co.uk is that I have not told O2 to enable "Mobile Web". I have now requested this, and once it is enabled, I will post back with an update.

It seems that loads of people have problems with configuring their SPV to work with an O2 SIM!

Hi all,

using Martin's settings from page 2 I successfully managed to set up my friend's e200 (or whatever it's called as she bought it in norway) on an o2 contract sim for internet, wap etc... she was pretty darn impressed seeing as the "o2 shop expert" hadn't had a clue!!! Hooray for MoDaCo :)

sorry if it's been posted before, I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to set up mms on her phone - the setup part of her mms application seems to have less boxes to put the numbers in than my old spv, if that makes sense? From what I remember there was nowhere to put in the port setting?

Thanks (esp Martin!),

Joel

Nice one :)

I think for MMS you should just need to setup the MMS app to use the GPRS WAP connection. You won't need to create a separate GPRS connection for MMS unless it uses a different APN, username and password. Try this...

Home - Start - More - MMS - Settings - Menu - New

Name: MMS

MMSC URL: http://mmsc.mms.o2.co.uk:8002

WAP Gateway: 193.113.200.195

Done

Preferences

Connect via : WAP network

Done - Home

Start - More - MMS - Settings

Highlight MMS

Menu- Set as default - Home

Note: There seems to be general problem between O2 MMS and smartphones at the moment but only for receiving MMS. Basically you just get 2 blank SMS messages. It will be interesting to know if the QTEK also suffers this problem (thats if it is a QTEK 8080 from Norway).

Try sending an MMS message to other phones and E-mail addresses and then try sending one to yourself.

Hi Im new here :) just got an Orange SPV but im using it on o2

I've read every page and tried practically every set of o2 settings posted, but no matter what i try I can only seem to access wsp:// sites with my GPRS, I can view full html sites through CSD but my free minutes will go so fast with that  is there any way to get it going with GPRS?

Also I cannot get messenger to work with my current settings, any advice on this would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Eventually heard back from o2. I have a payg sim, they say that mobileweb is not available on the Pay as you Go service.

Alas, no further progressed!! :x

Well, I've got the GPRS set up but I don't know how I can dial a connection using the +447973100500 number.  I've set this up in Data Connection, edit connections and in dial up connections.  Whenever I try to connect, it connects (shows the 2 arrows next to the network signal), but then it says unable to find web page.

Then in the Orange CSD WAP place I changed the Domain to the Orange home site, I also tried the IP address (192.168.71.35) and it says Login name failed.  I re-entered the Password and username (Multimedia and Orange) but same result.  I don't know what's going on

 Hello please help me with this!

The Domain must be blank otherwise it will fail.

You just need :

The Internet

44

7973

100500

Orange

Multimedia

It's a WAP dialup so you won't be able to access all internet pages. Test with the google site first.

Alternatively you could dial up to an ISP but you would be charged at data call rates.

It's been such a long time since I was fiddling with the settings trying to get it to work, but I don't know why I couldn't!!!

What you told me I should've already known... Hmmm... I don't know what's going on in my head! I think I unticked the Automatically Detect Network Settings box... :?

Anyway, all works now, thanks for your help martin!

The Orange WAP site doesn't work (well, not the site itself)

When connecting using CSD WAP, I can't go on the Orange World site and many other sitesdon't work either, however many sites do work. I've tested the wsp://google.com and it works.

I think it's some sort of conflict with the http:// and wsp:// because I know using GPRS, the Orange home starts with http:// and it works, but when using dialup, the whole thing doesn't work (it says connecting... for a while, then the title bar is Untitled but there's nothing on the page itself).

Any ideas on what to do/what's wrong?

Thankyou.

Guest Nevermore

Is the Mitac Mio 8390 compatible at ALL with USA TMobile GPRS?

I have tried every single setting. I have ditched my previous Sidekick data plan and signed up for TZones. I have gone through posts like this and pecked away at my data connection settings and CAN NOT browse the web with Pocket IE, or do any similar action outside of using the voice/SMS service.

I am in dire need of help and reassurance...

So has anyone successfully got MMS to work with Tmobile here in the US running Windows Mobile 2003 on a SPV E200. I have tried all the mms settings I could on this thread and have gone as far as looking on my other phones I have from Tmobile. Called there WDG for support (funnies thing I ever typed when talking about TMobile) and they were as clueless as they always are when trying to support a phone issue.

I have T-Zones WAP and T-Zones GPRS working like a charm. Can do everything I want except send/recieve MMS. I know I really dont need it since I have email but when a buddy of mine on TMobile sends me an mms I would like to view it while using the SPV E200.

Thanks!!!!

The settings I am using are as followed

When I go in MMS on my phone which is a i-mate (spv e200) running the latest rom version (windows mobile 2003)

MMS then settings then I go into my profile for this call T-Zone MMS I go into edit and I have three fields.

Name - T-Zones MMS

MMSC URL - http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms

WAP Gateway - wap.voicestream.com

I have tried internet2.voicestream.com as my WAP Gateway also.

There is nowhere on the phone that I can tell it to go through a gprs profile that I setup for T-Zones WAP and T-Zones GPRS or a proxy setting.

I do not know if it is WAP 1.0 or 2.0 either.

Thanks for your help on this
