Guest fbianchi Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 [Edited by Site Admin, thanks for the submission fbianchi!] SYMPTOM: When I dial 555 (info to know how much time you have used), often this is broken, and on other handsets I get an error message and disconnected. On the SPV, I get a VERY loud '3 beeps'. I tried setting exclamation to 'None' in the sound menu, but this made no difference - 3 loud beeps, definitely not designed to be sounded when the phone is next to your ear! RESOLUTION: None Known
Guest bird1 Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 If these bips are of the same tone or rise in tone then they are generated by the network, hence your inability to turn them off. Three bips of the same tone indicates a busy route for the call and three bips rising in tone indicates an error in connection between the handset and the network
Guest fbianchi Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 sorry, 3 bips decreasing !!! i tried again ! but definitely too loud for an ear against the handset !
Guest arawak Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 I had this happen to me when I got a busy tone calling a friend. It was a single beep of high pitch which was so loud it nearly made me pass out! Surely if you get an engaged tone calling someone that is enough without getting the loud high pitch tone in your ear!
Guest pupton Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 Yep, I get this as well.... I was calling home yesterday when the missus was on the phone. Initially, I thought my home line was faulty so I got directory enquiries to check it out. They said that the line was busy but I could not tell this at the time as the phone did not say that the line was busy.. I just got 3 very loud beeps and the call immediately ended... Most annoying...
Guest blueuk808 Posted December 19, 2002 Report Posted December 19, 2002 I had one loud beep when a call couldn't be connected (when answering). VERY loud and made me jump - tho my ear wax is now a little looser! Thanks SPV! It would be nice to know what it is tho - so u can turn it off
Guest maxwelldiagram Posted August 29, 2003 Report Posted August 29, 2003 same problem here! That sound really piss me off
Guest dearsina Posted September 12, 2003 Report Posted September 12, 2003 Has anybody figured out what this sound is? It smells like a network problem, but I have yet to successeed through the massive man eating maze known as Orange customer support with this issue. PROBLEM OUTLINE: When placing a call and after pressing the Call button, a loud high pitch sound, similar to a dial tone is heard. It lasts for about 10 seconds, after which the call is automatically ended. On the display it just says 'Calling...' then 00:00 when the call finishes. The problem occures often, but not all the time, so if you call the number again, chances are you get through just fine. If I were to guess, the problem occures because there is a fault somewhere when the phone tries to "log on" to the network to place the call. Perhaps someone from Orange with a technical background can shed some light. Funny enough, you cannot call them directly. You can call support, but they don't actually know anything, they only have some kind of diagnostics program on their screens, given to them by engineering, which isnt a client facing department, although they know everything. Is it me, or is there something wrong with this structure? sina london switching to t-mobile as soon as this silly contract finishes...
Guest maxwelldiagram Posted September 13, 2003 Report Posted September 13, 2003 Hello guys. Try to change SETTINGS>>ACCESSIBILITY>>IN call alert volume. switch it to the lowest w/c is "1"
