Guest Digiboy Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 Programs > Settings > Date and Time > "Error: The settings could not be opened" Worked when phone was new. Have only installed 'Full Hand Casino'(on SD card). Could this cause corruption?
Guest Chic0 Posted December 4, 2002 Report Posted December 4, 2002 I have had two SPV handsets in two weeks from Orange and the same error has occured on both of them. It worked when I first got phone as well but after about a day I started getting that error message. On the second handset I didnt even install anything only synced it with PC but I still get error message. I rang Orange again yesterday and was told that my problem was being passed over to their Tech Support team. I was told I will be contacted within two weeks hopefully with a solution.
Guest Digiboy Posted December 4, 2002 Report Posted December 4, 2002 Cheers Chic0 I'll call them again - and can you post here when they reply? Magic.
Guest Digiboy Posted December 4, 2002 Report Posted December 4, 2002 OK. Called Orange and they recommended I reset the phone as per http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic...highlight=reset This was very easy and worked. In fact, a little display error on my Home Screen has also been fixed by resetting. Much better than getting Orange to replace the handset if things now settle down.
Guest Chic0 Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 Just tried the Hard reset and it worked. Had a little scare along the way in that it seemed freeze during the cycle. Had to remove battery but all seems alright now. Let's hope this fixes the date/time problem permantly. Nice one!
