Guest mashkhan Posted December 4, 2002 Report Posted December 4, 2002 Has anyboday else had problems diverting calls, I try and divert a call within the telephony, call forwarding options. All I get is error downloading from the network. If I cold boot the phone it seems to work fine, but as you can imaging I really don't want to be doing this
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted December 7, 2002 Report Posted December 7, 2002 I don't think you can manage diverts when GPRS is active, maybe this is the root of your problem? P
Guest mashkhan Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 Already checked that, it's very erratic. It could just be my phone. I seems to happen when I've been using it for a while. It's irritating more than anything. Hopefully Orange will release some sort of BIOS upgrade for the SPV.
Guest Tobers Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 Yes, I've had this as well. Often, the SPV doesn't seem to be able to get the current divert settings from the network therefore you cant change them. This is rather pathetic as its just a basic phone feature. I found I had to really persevere to get it to work. Maybe 1 in 10 attempts are successful.
Guest Rob.P Posted December 9, 2002 Report Posted December 9, 2002 Make sure the ability to active call forwarding is switched on with orange, it wasn't on mine and I phoned 156 and they activated it for me along with the other settings like call barring and such like. Before then I always used to get the error message "could not download settings from network" Even though I had these facilities with my last phone before I upgraded, they seemed to be reset when I switched to the SPV. Hope it helps
Guest SPVDave Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 I have the same problem. I have a built it carphone and so each time I get in the car I divert my SPV to it and then undivert it when I get out. Quite often I find that trying to divert or undivert the phone fails. A switch off and on then does the trick. But then I found that simply making a call and hanging up even after a few seconds also sorts it. There is definately something wrong. So each time you cannot divert or undivert your phone it is quicker to call someone (say, your remaining minutes number 150) then hang-up, and try the divert again. I also find that sometime when I want to check for e-mail or go on the net that it fails to connect, it just says "Dialling". The same trick sorts this. I would be interested if anyone else has the same and a better fix for it.
Guest Rob.P Posted September 11, 2003 Report Posted September 11, 2003 Prehaps all the occassions that we have a prob with the phone that requires us to ring a number and hang up to sort it out we should all make sure we are calling O CS, might screw there system up if we are lucky then they might sort the problem out a bit faster.
