Guest vfbforever Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003 Hi! I am having trouble with my contacts. When i Synchronice with my computer it add space to the phone numbers. for example: Correct : +4520862386 After MS-outlook: +45 20 86 23 86 Then my phone can not reconize the caller so it will only be the number which is displayed on the phone screen and not the name for the contact. How can I solve this problem??? :? Thx in advance. Best regards, VFBforever
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003 It sounds like you have your Outlook/Active Sync/Windows set up for Danish regional settings. As such, somewhere along the line, telephone numbers are getting converted to the "old fashioned" xx xx xx xx format, rather than the newer xxxxxxxx style. There are two possible solutions I can think of - no guarantee they'll work though: 1. Check your SPV's regional settings. If you're using US english as the standard language, try changing it to Danish and do the same with the "Locale" setting. 2. Bit of a shotgun to kill an ant, this, but if all else fails try uninstalling Outlook/Active Sync then reinstalling them in english - I have a hunch that it might be Active Sync's being a little too clever with regard to number-format conversion. Hope this helps, sorry if it doesn't.
Guest vfbforever Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003 thanks for the answer. But, I am pretty sure it is an MS-outlook problem. I can not get Outlook to save my contacts number without the space between numbers, and when i syncronize the number i store in the phone will get edited to the wrong format. It works fine until I syncronize. I am a bit affraid that there are no solution. Hope for any suggestion! VFBforever
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003 I thought i'd seen this before: http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic...ghlight=outlook Doesn't look like there was any solution found though :/ I'll ask Keystroke next time i see him...
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003 Hmm. found this: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;197264 It gives something of an explanation for this behaviour, and the solution's there too - but I'm not sure if it works with Outlook when set up for use with Danish settings.
