E-Mail Alert on Home Screen

My SPV tells me I have an e-mail on the home screen, upon going to my inbox there is nothing there. Apart, obviously, from the text messages stored on my phone. I havent set my NTL account up on my phone so anyone got any idea how to read/get rid of this so called e-mail I have?
