Guest nato Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003 Has anyone managed to unlock since the change to the website ? I am so **ssed off now I have just mailed the operations director at Orange. If you want his name it is Didier Le Brat. Email address is [email protected] If everyone mails him something may get done ??!!!
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003 I doubt it - I can see where you're coming from, but mass-mailing rarely gives the desired result. Usually, it involves the addressee setting up a message rule to ignore all messages about the subject of the mails...
Guest nato Posted April 15, 2003 Report Posted April 15, 2003  I have received this reply from Orange. Thank you for your e-mail which has been received by the office of Mr Didier Lebrat, Vice President, Technical. Mr Lebrat has asked me to pass a copy of your letter to his Executive Office. A member of his team will contact you regarding the issues you have raised. You are an important customer to us and we intend to deal with your concerns and see that they are satisfactorily addressed. Mr Lebrat will be kept fully informed of the progress and outcome of this matter. Yours sincerely Christine Wood Personal Assistant to Chief Executive At least it wasn't a 'SOD OFF'. I believe I may have the right person! - we'll have to wait and see. In the meantime, I reckon the more complaints, the more they will have to sit up and notice, so get mailing!
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 Blimey  I hereby eat my words and stand corrected
Guest nato Posted April 17, 2003 Report Posted April 17, 2003 8) I am now the proud owner of an unlocked SPV (at last!) Right here it is.... Orange use a company based in Seattle,USA called 'ActionEngine'. They wrote the application behind the unlock process. They then use a 3rd party SMS company for delivering the OTA unlock routine to the handset. The reason why some people are experiencing difficulties is not in any way related to IMEI/Mobile number, and is purely down to the SMS provider being shite. If you are having problems unlocking, this is why. This information is straight from the horses mouth. Orange are now aware and are investigating.
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted April 19, 2003 Report Posted April 19, 2003 Orange are now aware and are investigating. ....and expect to have something in place within a couple of weeks (from another horse's mouth ;)
