Guest spacemonkey Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 This poorly translated item on smartphony  http://translate.google.com/translate?u=ht...Flanguage_tools Talks about the neonod... sounds like it's not smartphone 2002 tho, it's just another Windows CE phone of some kind. I'm guessing that 'll be cos they broken the "rules" of interface (ie button layout) set down by microsoft. From the look of the interface I assume you jam your finger into that weird looking opening (looks like a Gaould (stargate) should come out of it) and then the phone reads directly from your nervous system ;)
Guest Richie M Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 Or check out Smartphony's original source (which is in English) Mobile Burn They have some wicked photo's of it as well  this looks an amazing piece of kit, very small and it has a built in camera ;)
Guest TSCRYPTO Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 Touch screen eh? Nice one, apart from greasy fingerprints... MP3 as std. Battery is impressive.
Guest mrjuglas Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 I second that, it looks fantastic, that screen, wow! Surely not as good as the spv tho...??? Maybe better for some things and it's damn cool, the design is amazing, forgive me I can't control my lust, I want one!
Guest Emad Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 Remember to divide all battery life's by a 2 or 3 times as standard
Guest TSCRYPTO Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 Remember to divide all battery life's by a 2 or 3 times as standard Yeah, good point Emad... 8)
Guest spacemonkey Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 OK, now battery is 1100 mAH where as SPV is 1000 mAH so not much difference... SPV (current info from MS) has a chip that includes a core at 84Mhz ARM7 for radio and phone functions (digital signal processing) and a 133Mhz ARM9 for the CPU for programs. Neonode has a 96Mhz ARM7 as it's CPU for programs. So there's a good chance that that is the main difference in battery life, potentially it'll be better at sleeping when not in use I spose... maybe... Anyway, nice looking kit, not compatable with Smartphone 2002 apps, possibly compatable with Windows CE apps as long as they are still useable on a smaller than normal screen. Also since it's 96Mhz ARM cpu it's a lot slower than most Windows CE devices and a bit slower than SPV. Screen resolution is the same as SPV colours quoted as 260k rather than spv 64k but I'm not quite sure what 260k is... or whether it'd make that much difference (a better screen physically will look better regardless of this difference, eg Tanager vs SPV). That's my summary anyway.
Guest ClintEastman Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 Seen some video footage of this puppy running, looks VERY cool!!!
Guest Machinly Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 where did u see the footage clint :?:
Guest rocknsock2k Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 mmmmmm stargate lol. i know how much wear and tear my phone goes through and i cant help that with the screen being a touch screen it must be quite flimsy and delicate to pressure. remember people youll be using this one as a phone not a PDA or whatever else u might have so unless they have a really good case or protective cover for the screen how long till theres lines of people with borken screens?
Guest 15 yr old Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 I would like to have one of them! asthetics wise it looks amazing! but i dont think it will be very practical! i cant bear my spv screen being dirty so imagine what a touch screen would be like!
