Guest Charlie Mouse Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 In Media Player on the PC if you rip a CD to your harddisk it will store an image of the front cover along with the files. It then displays this image in Media Player when you listen to the album. I always just copy the whole Album directory across to my MMC card so I end up with the album art as well. You can probably see where this is going... Can anyone figure out a way to display the album art as the background in media player on the phone? Probably not an overly useful thing but would look pretty cool
Guest Richie M Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 No can do Charlie  Our version of Media Player doesn't support things like that (& it's the only version that doesn't allow on the fly skin chnages ;) even Pocket PC does that)
Guest Charlie Mouse Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 How about if, in the skin definition for Media Player you specified the album art on the MMC card as the background. This would only work if Media Player reloaded all the skin images every time you ran it and if the album art images have the same file name (i.e artwork.gif). Dont know what would happen if it couldn't find the image though... Would this work? I haven't done any skinning myself so dont really know what I'm talking about... (just had a thought. This would only work if you only had one album per MMC...)
Guest Richie M Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 Yeah you can sort do it that way sort of, but i personally think it's a whole lot of effort for such little gain. Your best bet is to start with a custom skin like this and change the "main" image (NOT the "button" area tho) with your Album Artwork, then save it with the same name and store them in seperate folders on your card. Ech time you will have to copy across which ever "cover" you want, but you can only do this when WMPlayer has unloaded (either shut it down with Task Manager, wait for it to close by itself  (can take 5 minutes or longer) or power on/off).
Guest arunhallan Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 mediaplayer actually fills ure comp up with albumart without u knowing off the net - its all under hidden files
Guest Richie M Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 mediaplayer actually fills ure comp up with albumart without u knowing off the net - its all under hidden files On your PC, yes, on your SPV, no!
Guest arunhallan Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 i know - just thought ppl mite like to know
Guest madu Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 Yep, and that makes you music folders look like s*** if you 'show hidden files/folders'... Though it seems to be impressive when ppl come round and stick their CD in and it comes up with names and pictures - their eyes go 50p.
Guest midnight Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 of course, this could be requested for smartamp if enough people want this feature personally, i think a little thumbnail would be cool (kind of like the neonode media player)
Guest madu Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 I would LOVE to see SmartAMP update that supports MP3's coz the soft is really sweeet! Anyone working on that atm?
