last week sometime I was trying out loads of other games on my SPV

I think one of them hasn't installed properly, as when I put the phone in the cradle the pc starts an add/remove program dialog, and then reports an error :-

"Unable to retrieve device information. Please reconnect and try again."

It's now stopping me from installing anything else from PC installers

I can get connected as normal, and fully browse the phones content, just not run this type of installer - which includes the new TokiTori demo

If I open the activesync window, and select tools, add/remove programs I get the same error

Any ideas how I get rid of this??

TIA

dont think so.

toki tori demo file is called tokitoridemo10_sp.exe

which I got direct from the Handango site, and claims to be an SPV demo

of course it may not be, and that would explain the problem

cheers anyway m8

"sp" would imply SmartPhone.

People have had similar problems on the newsgroups with the Activesync installer. It was pointed out if you tried to install a PPC application without the phone plugged in, the next time you did Activesync would try and install it but fail due to the SPV not being PPC. Then in true MS style, hang and not let you do anything.

However....

This doesnt seem to be your problem... not with tokitori at least. Have you checked all the other apps you installed?

have competely uninstalled, restarted and reinstalled active sync now - and no longer get the add/remove when the phone is first put in the cradle, so it fixed whatever app was causing that

but Toki Tori demo will still not install, same error

;)

Email them and ask for a .cab?

Email them and ask for a .cab?

maybe, I'm more concerned that other seem to be able to install it this way, and not me

I'd rather find the root of the problem, as otherwise other games in the future might do it also :)

ah, well... back to coding my own stuff instead ;)
