Ear busting disconnect alarm

Hi,

Am from the philippines and I just got my smartphone and what really bugs me and literally hurts my ears is when the party i am calling disconnects or drops a call and i still have the phone to my ear. A sound file placed in the ROM alerts the user ... the problem is it plays in the loudspeaker mode - which really hurts !!!

Can anybody please help me get rid of this. I tried the usual phone settings and nothing turns it off.

Would appreciate your help a lot.
