i was taking out of that fidily case then all of a sudden it rapidly started slipping out of my grasp, it fell..... i tried to catch it, i really did. but i was just.....to slow. The sound it made when it made the connection to the pavement was painful. i cried for days.

Only dropped it once, in its case though (like the only time i used it hehe) so it survived.

Dropped it on bare carpet floors a lot though...

Was walking along Stockport, and tried to pull the phone out of a jean pocket in a busy street. It eventually came out, and flung out of my pocket - at least 5 metres ahead of me. :|

I've dropped my phone quite a few times, usually when I've just got out of the car with my hands full. The phone's now got a collection of scratches and knocks mainly down the right hand side but THIS phone just keeps battling on.

How was the phone after? damage wise?

Was almost perfect!

The only visible thing was a tiny hairline scratch on screen

And Paul, don't worry - I've been very cautious with the Tanager, today was the first time I took that one out instead of the SPV

dropped it a few times, not outside tho, my phone looks pretty immaculate actually, just 2 or three scratches on the underside due to the charger (very carefull, dont even put it in the same pocket as monay and keys, a guaranteed scratch deterrant, kinda)

I was taking a pic of the anti-war march (b4 coming to the meet) when a bloke bumped into me. The SPV went flying and landed atleast 10 feet away with the phone on one side the camera or lets say the four pieces of the camera scattered all over the place. ;)(

Even then the phone was in perfect condition and I was able to put the pieces together. Infact I took a few pics at the meet after the incident and they came out fine.

Cas

Note to self:

1) Next time hold it firmly when taking a pic.

2) Stay well clear of rallies!

I can also report with confidence that the SPV is foam resistant. Just got back from a foam party, which i accidently took my SPV to. When i was engulfed i thought oh shite thats my phone gone. but it survived!

I had that on one of my previous handsets, when trying to be clever and fiddling with the charger trying to get it in without looking...

My one was only dropped once on a pavement, but that was one or two days

before I had it replaced due to the Headset bug, so the nasty scratches it

got on the side didn't bother me for long...

Now I only dropped it in this case, which prevents anything from happening to the phone!

I've been lucky I've only ever dropped mine when it's been in the case.

I havent dropped my SPV yet, but the dropping of my previous phone (6210) was what lead me to getting the SPV as a replacement.

Moral: Dropping your phone on the pavement and destroying it isn't always a bad thing...

So far been extremely lucky, the three drops which were due to encounter the pavement have all been LUCKILY avoided at last minute, I seem to have a reflex which uses my foot to break anything I have dropped's fall.

As you can imagine this has been extremely painful in the past, especially when said items have been sharp and heavy (bloody reflex :x ) also doesn't do any good if I have my steely DM's on

Exactly!

My 6210 got destroyed nearly a year ago, although the 24 months contract in

Germany is still running for it!

I must have dropped it 200-300 times mostly by having it in my shirt pocket

whilst bending down to pick up the soap aaaaaaaaaaaahhhh, I mean: to do

my shoe laces up ;-)

I do that all the time as well, just be careful when handling small children; if you drop small nephew/niece, the horrified parents of said youngster will not accept your 'it's a reflex action' excuse, when it appears that you have actually tried to drop kick their precious offspring ;). I'm sorry about the way my mind works

The SPV can take some hits.. the one time i was in a table tennis comp, the ppl here looked quite rough, and so i thought id be clever and carry my new baby on me.. however I twatted the spv against the corner of the table - smashed the screen.. never been so peeved.. thank god for insurance though!

saying that though, the 'new' one (this happened a while back) can take one hell of a beating.. one time i was too lazy to make two journeys from the car, i tried to carry my keys, my spv, my stereo, and a bag, and all of a sudden, my phone went flying and bounced on the pavement! it got a few scratches here and there, but its still SPV number 2 :-)

All im sayin is... get orange care :-)

The scratches do annoy me, esp the one big one on my screen - any ideas how to fix them ? ie touch them up? or is it a case to break it and get SPV number 3? ;-)

thanks
