Guest StoutMan Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 Is there an alarm system on the spv which works when the phone is switched off. I have found one but doesn't work when the phone is switched off.
Guest rocknsock2k Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 i wouldnt think so as the phone would need power in order for this to work and i dont think the mini battery thats keep the clock and date correct would be able to power it plus need power for the software and proccessors etc
Guest midnight Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 yeh, seriously doubtfulll, best you could hope for is an app which kind off half shuts it down, killing all essential apps, screen etc., but isnt that just what it does in standby mode anyway???
Guest ragegames Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 And also turn the radio function off to save power maybe? P
Guest midnight Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 wont save a lot i wouldnt think, maybe an hour or so of full usage, very smal amount for the radio functions, prob is, you can shut down most of the phone, but good old windows ce still has to be running i'm afraid, most you could expect to save is an hour or two above the normal sleep mode correct me if i'm wrong anyone
Guest caio1 Posted April 17, 2003 Report Posted April 17, 2003 Just set the radio off instead of shutting down. Yesterday my battery was at 6% when I set the radio off and after about 12 hours it was at 3%. And you don't have to boot the whole phone when you wake up, just set radio on and in less the 20 seconds it's up. Caio
Guest Hax Posted April 17, 2003 Report Posted April 17, 2003 To be honest, I wouldn't trust an alarm to go off with the knowledge that Windows has to boot up before it could play the alarm - would you? Joking aside, if the hardware's been designed for it, there's no reason why the Real Time Clock (RTC) couldn't generate an interrupt that has the same effect as pushing the power switch. But that requires support from the processor, RTC, PCB layout and OS. Who knows if all components are up to the job?! Hax
Guest midnight Posted April 17, 2003 Report Posted April 17, 2003 it would have start it up 30 seconds early to let the phone boot aswell heheheh
