Grrrr Help me before i thow myself to a shop for a nokia

Hi, Im having a little problem

Im sure i decerted my phone because i have sms toools, Task Manager and SmartExplorer installed )thats a good indication right?)

BUT i cannot install the ORNETA NOTEPAD it says '' unable to open the file the system returns the error 'access denied',''

Its the exe file i have, am i using the wrong one? should i have cab file?

Secondly, I been reading all those threads about smartface, i placed in my startup menu folder, and selected it, i also created a jpeg with +44*********.jpeg. But when some one calls me it doesnt come up with the picture?

Do i need to hack it? with registry thing? I tried to follow midnights way but being a noob lost the plot? can some one tell me lamens term? how to use it?

Thirdly can i install signed application on a decert phone? :roll:

are you putting you pics in a dir called pict on the storage card?

Alright m8! Remember the first rule of SPV - Don't Panic!!

If you are running taskmanager etc. then your phone is decerted.

OK - Ornetta notes

How did you install Ornetta notes? Are you using smartexplorer?

I have Ornetta notes (the .exe file), and as far as I can remember, I just copied it via activesync to IPSM/Windows/start menu/accessories - then just clicked it in the phone accessories folder and it installed OK. If this is what you are doing, then it may just be a corrupted download. Try downloading the file again & doing this.

I don't have the smartface app so I'm not much help there, but there are loads of posts in this sectionon installing it etc.

As far as registry edits, if you have PHMregedit installed, then you can change the settings of some other screens & add tweaks to speed etc. Again there are loads of posts in this section on doing them, but recently people like midnight have been making registry tweaks available as cab files, so dafties like us can just install them!! Look back through the posts in here & you'll find them.

Midnight's site is about the best & simplest explaination of registry editing as I have seen, so if you are lost with it, then short of putting yourself through a few hours of torment getting to grips with it, you could always wait a little while for Midnight's forthcoming app which will allow a multitude of tweaks to be applied from your desktop PC with ease (that's what I'm doing!!)

Again, if you really fancy getting into it, there is loads of information here, and it's not really that hard! I'm a complete amateur myself, but after reading some of the posts here,I have managed to change most of the screen that appear on my phone.

& finally, ...em yes I think you can install signed apps on a decerted phone. Don't think I've ever tried?!?

Hope this is of some help. I have had an SPV for a few months now, with a whole host of problems, and this forum has been the answer top all of them! You will find a solution somwhere in here for almost anything I think!

sounds simple i know, but that could be yer problem (its always the simplest things that mess things up)

Darn. I placed orenta notepad in IPSM/Windows/start menu/accesso and the tried to install it.

This is the message it came up with: ACCESS DENIED, THE PROGRAM CANNOT START BECAUSE IT IS NOT DIGITALLY SIGNED WITH A TRUSTED CERTIFICATE Blimey! What am i doing wrong

Have you actually tried running task manager or smartexplorer after you installed them?

While I was using my Vodafone card this holiday in Germany, I had the same

problem:

Sometimes certification seemed to temporarily be back as it wouldn't let me

rum uncerted apps.

Sorted this easily though by pulling out and re-inserting the sd-card, where I

have all my apps!

If that doesn't help, try a restart!

Now if only this Smartface would do the damn same thing.

I Smart face in my startup folder, and made some pics with the mobile number eg +44123456789.jpg, but still hte damn pictures dont come up, i have a pict folder in storage card with them in it, still no avail? help
