Problem with MMS on Proximus (Belgian) network

Problem: MMS is buggy... sometimes an MMS arrives, but cannot be retrieved (error while downloading message). After resetting the phone I can indeed read an MMS which has been sent from another phone, but I don't see the body of the MMS (simply says "OBJECT"). MMS'ses send from the SPV to myself are okay... I know the phone is designed to work on the UK Orange network, but I thought the MMS protocol is a standard?

These are my settings:

Are you trying to sendreceive between different networks?

as this has been a known network problem the phone.

The networks are only just getting their act together and

starting to work in the UK so Belgian networks could well

in the same situation.

This could be a new one then :?

there are also known compatability issues between the

older Nokia 7650 as well.

PS Welcome to the site

Far from " standard" at mo, I have placed a thread elsewhere ??? on this but MMS interpretation is different on networks(particularly size wise) as per awarners post but all handsets seem to handle MMS differently. Note: The SPV on the Orange network will handle MMS to the 100kb limit as will the P800 but some other handsets struggle to open anything over 30kb.

I will post a little more on MMS compatibility when I have more time as it seems to be an issue for people who use it. 8)
