Guest SirGaz Posted April 17, 2003 Report Posted April 17, 2003 OK guys, having no joy what so ever with encoding a DVD to Divx. The problem is not with Virtualdub as I can't even get that far. ;) Basically, I have a ripped DVD on my hard drive, but then converting that into a useable format for virtualdub to use is proving an absolute nighmare. I've been using gknot (as recommended by fargo a few weeks ago) but all I can get is the first 15 minutes encoded, then it naturally stops i.e. it doesn't error, just thinks that's how long it is. :? The file I point it at is nearly 2 hours long (doing a full movie) according to the stats so there must be something I'm not doing right but I've followed instructions to the letter. I'm guessing it's doing 1 chapter rather than the full movie but don't know why. Can somebody please help with detailed instructions with exactly what needs setting at what point. If I can't get it to work this time then I think my PC will be flying through a window
Guest SirGaz Posted April 17, 2003 Report Posted April 17, 2003 Can a mod move this to H&A. Posted in the wrong topic by mistake
Guest Palindrome Posted April 17, 2003 Report Posted April 17, 2003 Have a look at: http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/articles.../dvdtodivx.html Personally I use flaskMPEG but have a root around and see what suits you the best.
