Guest Mr B Posted April 17, 2003 Report Posted April 17, 2003 Hello all, There are quite a few threads all over these boards recommending good wap sites etc. Do you think it might be worth collecting all these threads in one place, so someone looking to hijack the surfing of others can maybe find a big list of recommended sites. Just an idea, which I'm not sure if it's been done before. The reason why I ask this is because despite having been on here a while, I've only just noticed that Modaco has a mobile site. Doh! Cheers
Guest martin Posted April 17, 2003 Report Posted April 17, 2003 I think thats a great idea. I look forward to seeing your collection. ;) Seriously, if people start having to pay for GPRS, WAP sites might begin to look a bit more attractive. I don't think that MoDaCo mobile is a WAP though. Guest Mesh121 Posted April 17, 2003 Report Posted April 17, 2003 do any of you no any decent text message sites like o2 where i can send txt msgs ;)?
Guest rocknsock2k Posted April 17, 2003 Report Posted April 17, 2003 modaco mobile has only just been put up by paul in the last week i think n it isnt quite finished yet- it isnt wap well not yet. go to www.planusuk.net for twxt mwssaging at low prices ( soon theyre bringing out an ap so u cant send a message like u do already on the phone but itll be more feature rich etc) i agree with u about putting all the wap sites in one place but i think this should be done with all things. Paul if you read this how about a part of the site that is like a tutorial and help center-not a forum. so newbies can go there and ahve step by step guides on how to improve their phones, with all the diferent upgrades tweaks skins program info etc there in an easy to read n browse section otherwise everyone input and hardwork will be lost as the forum gets more n more posts-have u tried searching through the forum for a really early topic aghhhhhhhh 70+pages of topics. so have software department tweak department how to do this how to do that etc, im sure lots of us would be willing to help you do this:) what does everyone else think?
Guest fraser Posted April 17, 2003 Report Posted April 17, 2003 I'd like to see a list of SPV-friendly HTML websites as well. You know, BBC News lite, some sort of map company etc.
Guest terminater2_uk Posted April 17, 2003 Report Posted April 17, 2003 modaco mobile isnt wap? so how do i get it without gprs?
Guest martin Posted April 17, 2003 Report Posted April 17, 2003 modaco mobile isnt wap? so how do i get it without gprs? I'm not sure what you're saying here. All I can say is that MoDaComobile cannot be accessed by the WAP service. You need that full internet web service.
Guest terminater2_uk Posted April 17, 2003 Report Posted April 17, 2003 well i've got a genie account with unlimited wap but no gprs but i can get mobile modaco as well as all other internet sites just like on my pc( so long as they dont have frames) i just assumed it was the spv that allowed this?
