Hard Reset

Now i am wondering if i should or shouldn't, i am considering this because:

Recently before i hard resetted it i could connect to the orange update and it would search and find stuff if any updates where out, well now i cannot do this i think all my settings are wrong, now if i was to hard reset would it resolve this or not ?!? any ideas and do you think i should try it :S

Try connecting to a webpage to kick off a GPRS session, then run Orange Update...
