Sports news?

BBC's sports news service is quite cool and in depth - try http://news.bbc.co.uk/low/english/pda_sport/

The Orange site is pretty good (biased comment - I'm in charge of F1 coverage!)

Thurstan -

Ooh, what a fancy job!!! Do you mean the Orange Mynews section? If so, I already subscribe to that, & yes it is excellent for F1 news. However, I'm really looking for a dedicated F1 service, with perhaps streaming data/video as a rece/qualifying session is on, and databases of info etc.!! Know of any of these for smartphone?

Not sure about SPV-friendliness, but probably the best dedicated service is www.f1-live.com

They have streaming updates during Qualifying 1 and 2, as well as in-race updates (as do we).

They also have streaming data with regards to standings during the race (which we hope to have very soon), and SMS updates etc (we've been doing this for years, as you probably know).

Their database is also good, with a large archive.

As for video during the race, no-one is allowed to offer that service yet as Bernie Ecclestone keeps a very tight grip on broadcast rights. I think we may see it soon - it just depends on who is willing to shell out the many millions of pounds (as Hutch have done for Premiership rights).

Mmm... that b**tard Ecllestone! He's ruining F1 blahblah, I hope they form this breakaway championship sooner rather than later blahblah ... I could go on for hours but this is not an F1 forum!!

Had a look at F1-live, it is good, but not optimised for SPV!

Please keep me informed of any and all things F1 to do with Orange's SPV service. I would love to see a dedicated F1 site which was SPV optimised!

Thanks for your help!

I was looking around the Orange SPV homesite and for the first time ever I entered the 'Browse site directory' and was genuinly surprised as there is quite a list. I instantly remembered this topic about sport sites.

There are two particular SPV sites which caught my attention which is a motorsport site called crash.net (includes F1 and others) and a football site called 4thegame. ;) and they look good too.
