Guest bassman42 Posted April 17, 2003 Report Posted April 17, 2003 Well, handset number 3 will be with me tomorrow morning. Yes, I've been suffering from that age old problem of the headset switch jamming "on". Odd thing is one call to Orange on 150, a quick jaunt through their IVR system, a diagnostic routine later and they confirm, "it's sh***ed sir!" and the new one is winging its way to me via motorbike courier. I like the SPV but times they are a trying and I can only wonder how many more handsets Orange will give me before giving up and offering me an alternative!
Guest simon11 Posted April 18, 2003 Report Posted April 18, 2003 What alternative! Do you mean an SPVx ? If they do that everybody will have the same problem.

Orange can decide to offer an alternative handset and it has been quoted that may well happen when you reach handset no5. Some members are on that now, but the problem is there is not really an alternative available as it would be unlikely that they would offer a P800 as one. Also the SPVx is still the same phone, just a difference case. So all that's left is to be offered is a N**** but you don't really want one of those, do you?

I quite agree, going back to a Nokia now would be pure misery as my daily existence would be severly impacted by moving away from the SPV. Orange's only chance of satiating my needs would be to provide me with a Nokia and an IPAQ (or some other form of PocketPC2002 device) or as you mention a P800 and just how unlikely is that! ;)
