Please help - unable to update to UK 1.35.06

Hello folks, I'm hoping someone can help me because I'm going nuts!!

I've downloaded the latest update but every time I try to update I get the same error - Error 117: Invalid Model ID. Can anyone help me with this. I saw another posting with what seemed a rather drastic solution (copying files across to SPV and running from there - which seems to have crashed at least one person's phone) so if anyone knows another way around this I'd be obliged if you would help. I have also tried disabling activesync on the pc (by clicking off all connection methods). This was proposed in one of the newsgroups. All this meant was I got a 101 connectivity problem from the update. I then tried various restarts of both the PC and the mobile but nothing works.

Could it be that I REALLY have got an invalid model ID? The error goes on to say that "Your SPV model must be SPV and beyond." Does anyone know what sort of spv I should have???

If it's any help, when I go to the settings/about page this is what I have:

Version 3.0 (build 12255)

ROM operator 3.0.12255.0

manufacturer 1.5.0.0

Microsoft 3.0.12255

language 3.0.12255

file system 3.0.12255

If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it.

but it looks like it may not work on Win 98 & ME.

Thanks very much for pointing me in the right direction that. I followed their advice and it worked first time!!! I can't think why I couldn't find that posting myself - I'd been looking all afternoon.
