Guest Will Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 is an activesync partnership set up? Will
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 If the phone is locked via security settings the only option may be to perform a hard reset :)
Guest bit slow Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 hi if you mean is the 'activesync' set up on the home comp, then yes. also what is a 'hard reset' and how do i do this if last resort,as only had the thing five minutes, so there is no real info on there yet. thanks in advance!! bit slow
Guest Will Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 if you can still sync it with the pc, i can fix it for you.. PM me Will
Guest Gorskar Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 The hard reset is done by turning the phone off and then when turning on hold down the record button and power button at the same time. You should see a message "press action key for 2 seconds to enter diagnostics" or something like that. Quickly press and hold the action button (middle joypad) until you see the menu. If you see the 3-colour canary screen you have been too slow, so try again. (Some people recommend holding down the action button at the same time as the record and power buttons when powering up, releaseing the power + record buttons, then very quickly releasing the action button and pressing (+ holding) it again.) Once you see a menu you need to select option 8 (erase IPSM) Once this is complete (a message "PASSED" will show) you should exit the bootloader by pressing left twice on the joypad. Reset the phone, and all will be back to factory settings. It will take longer to load this first time, as it is rebuilding the IPSM from the ROM, but after that all will be well again.
Guest bit slow Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 most appreciated people.. i will try to tackle this tomorrow. so will let you know what the situaion is. much thanks for your advice. bit slow!!! :?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 what is a 'hard reset' Sorry did not notice you had just joined, so welcome to the site :) Ok a hard reset is a process that returns your phone into the "Out of the box" state, so all your settings and any apps you may have installed will be erased and the phone will return to it's original settings. Also Will suggested you pm him, pm means private message, to send a pm just click on a users name.
