how do i make skins?

I have got pretty much what i ant on my phone but i want o tplay arround with the 'qucik programs' on the home page. what is the easiest way to do this? i can just about get my way around xml (as can do baic html) dod i need to do fancy coding and stuff to do this?

The icons list is a list of your "Most Recently Used" applications., and can't be manually edited. You probably just want to put links in for each app if you want specifics (such as the default Orange homescreen).

sorry, prob didn't explain myself very well, i was just want to change how they appear, what they look like (size and what they look like when selected) and also to change the colour of the meters from white to black and to add/remove the bar at the top (or make it transparent?)

Then my advice would be to read over that MS page and then rip a few of the skins that do that to pieces ;)

This should be able to be done within XML - I have been playing around with a few existing skins and colours and sizes can be altered. Have a look at some of the exisiting skins - there are plenty with different coloured meters (grey, white, black).

Positioning too, can be altered.

As for the top bar...there must be a way - might have a look at that tomorrow.

and what i want to do is change the colour of the meters and the text which says what prog i have selected, (I have a light background and would like to use the same layout!)

Yep you can change it m8 ;)

You can remove "iconbar" if you wish, the only thing you can't do with it is re-size it :) is has to be 20 pixels and you can't change the font size on it :D

If you mean in the "iconbar", afraid not, 1) icon bar cannot be modified (unless you code a new plug-in(and no-one has developed any new plug-ings (yet))). 2) you can not have plug-ins side by side.
