Guest waaardy Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 I love my spv - but just cannot get the gprs settings to use in Ireland. My SIM is Vodafone (Ireland) Can anyone help ??
Guest Vector Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 Try searching on google. This has been brought up quite alot. Then if you find the settings post them here so everyone can use them  Good luck PS: please try searching
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 http://www.my-siemens.com/com.aperto/MySie...ters_050402.pdf This document contains SOME valid info. Try the values for Vodafone Ireland? Before you ask, I haven't a clue what they mean by user-specific for username and password. Have you tried asking the operator Customer Service?
Guest morpheus Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 User Specific means the phone is wanting you to enter your username and password that your ISP gave you. You will find these in OUTLOOK EXPRESS>TOOLS>ACCOUNTS>SERVER Morpheus
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 So you have to get a username and password from Vodafone Ireland, and they're different for each user? Why do they do this? Sounds like a big headache for no good reason, from the telco operator's point of view... Of course, telco's never make much sense, do they?
Guest morpheus Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 Are the emails going to your phone the same as the ones on your pc? If so then all you need are the details I specified from your PC ISP Morpheus
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 Oh, I believe these are the username and password for the GPRS Access Point. Nothing to do with email, really. They go into Settings>Data Connections>Connections>GRPS Connections.
Guest VodaSPV Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 I have literally tried everything in order to get my GPRS on UK Vodafone working on the SPV. But no luck. So for the mean-time I have given up. If someone, gets it working then please let me know straight away. Thanks. :)
Guest morpheus Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 Ok, to answer you about Ireland.. I have just come from work ('O'), and apparently GPRS has not been tested in Ireland yet, so trying to use it may not work. Morpheus
