Newbie questions

Hello everyone, i'm new to this forum and almost as new to the orange SPV, and i have a few questions about the phone.

1. i downloaded all of the pdates from orange update, i think they were two ringtones, two wallpapers & one program which i think saved on the phone as UK XPdeliver. but i cant find any way of running the programs, or using the tones and wallpapers. the wallpapers are stored in storage cardmy documentsmy pictures not as images but cab file and the ringtones are stored in IPSMmy documents also as cab files

UK XPdeliver is also in the same location as the ringtones

i am assuming that i need to extract the cab files and put the contents in the corect places but cant work out how.

2. whilst having a quick browse through the forum i noticed the thread about using peoples pictures for call id, could someone run me through the setup.

I think thats it for now.

Any help will be apreciated

Welcome m8 ;)

1) on the Smartphone's you don't extract CAB's you execute them the easiest way is to move the CAB via Activ-Sync to somewhere in your Start Menu and then just select it normally, thro the "programs" :)

2) I dont use it sorry

Thanks for that Riche M. i got them all sorted now.

and i tried to download the SmartFace software from the link at the bottom of the post, but it was a dead link.

How can i get this smartface software from?

Smartface beta 4 has just been released today on smatphony (french site), this may have something to do with beta3 being dead link.

It could also be that the smartphony site is extremely busy.

This is where this beta3 link is points too.

I expect we'll be hearing from Galaga soon in the Software section ?

I would hold off until beta4 appears.

Hello,

I cant seem to get the beta4 cab to install properly. My phone says it cant install because its an unsigned ap but my phone has been decertified and other programs install. Can anyone help?

Try rebooting your phone, redownloading and installing the cab and make sure the battery is fully charged....

thanks for the advice, unfortunately it didnt work. I seem to remember someone else having this problem with smartface but when i searched I couldnt find it. Anyone have any more ideas?
