Is anyone having problems around the Manchester UK area with Orange GPRS, I cant connect to either emails or web pages.

I have the big G in the middle of the top of my screen, when I dial I get the G in the top right

When I am connecting to a web page the phone dials and then says it cant find the page

when I connect to the phone also brings up an error page re connecting to the email system.

I'm in North Manchester and it's been crap for the last 24 hours! (I went to town this afternoon and it was fine) I found when sending and receiving emails, it worked better to connect to a web page first, (if it let me) otherwise I couldn't log on to get my mail.

PsychoDave -

Have you tried quitting IE from taskmanager? I get the dialling... bug quite regularly, but if I quit it in taskmanager then I can usually reconnect straight away without rebooting.

Also, I know it's an old remedy, but I had problems with GPRS while running whocall.exe ??

I was Ok before. Now I'm getting Dialling (with timeout) and unable to place call, permanently. Are others having this problem in Manchester ? Is anybody not having this problem ?

Same problem here in the Midlands. But the suggestion of using Task Manager to end 'ie' does seem to help. Had this prob for a few weeks now.

I tried re-booting and it didn't work, still dialled and timed out.

All the settings were correct but I changed the settings to O2 (& booted) and then back to Orange (& booted) and GPRS was working again.
