Just go to the Orange evelopers site and use unlock facility to put phone back to unlocked (de certified ) without hard reset !!!!

don't go there directly. Follow the link from the orange.com website

I previously unlocked my SPV using the Orange Dev Site but it was locked again after the keyboard update. I spent the last couple of days repeatedly trying to unlock it again at the Dev Site with no success. My details were always accepted but the OTA unlock never arrived. I then found this post in one of the Orange Developer's Discussion threads:

1. Install the small Orange registration application (you can get this by typing in an incorrect IMEI/phone number and you are then taken to a page where you can download it to the phone).

2. Go back to the page where you put in your name, IMEI, phone number. Key in correct numbers (making sure it is full international +xx format). Do not click OK at this stage.

3. Activate GPRS, eg. by browsing to a web page or running MSN.

4. Run the registration activation program on the SPV. Make sure the phone number is the full +xx format (identical to that in the web page). The application seems to pick up just the local number, ie. 07770 xxxxxx. Ignore any message on the screen about "Active Lock running, the phone is registered" - I do not think this is true.

5. Now press Register on the phone, and a few seconds later click OK on the unlock web page.

6. You should now get an unlocked message on the phone.

What seems important is that GPRS is already active on the phone before trying to register, and that the 2 phone number fields (phone & web) are filled in identically (+xx) format (I used no spaces).

I followed this to the letter and hey presto, SPV unlocked straight away ;)

(You need to enter the incorrect IMEI twice to get the download link for the registration program)

I had been having problems getting my SPV unlocked using the Orange website, I have just followed your instructions to the letter and got my SPV unlocked straight away!. The only thing that I did that was different on the instructions was that I could not figure out how to put a + symbol in the Action Register software so I just entered in 44 then the number without the 0, and on the website I entered in +44 then the number without the 0.

Thanks for the instructions

That's good news mdawkins. You could have got the '+' symbol by pressing and holding the '0' key - but you've done it now ;)

Your post has got me thinking. I'm wondering if some of the people that are having problems unlocking realise that entering a number in the +44xxxxxxxxxxx (international format) are leaving out the '0' from the dial code? It's easy to assume that they are but I'm sure there's plenty of people that have never dialled an international number or been abroad and dialled home.

Welcome to the site and thanks for the post, but this thread is about unlocking Over The Air (OTA) using the Orange Developers Website. Most people are also aware of the website but people have been having problems actually getting their phones de-certified using it.

Cheers.

Now Listen folks.. there must be something wrong with the official delocking page from orange because yesterday I was able to lock into the site, now I'm NOT(!!!!!!!!)

what's happening?

it is NOT a firewall or like problem, I use the same 2 different computers with each different ISP's etc... so there must be another way around or another link?
