WMA Bitrates

Just out of interest really - I know many people fill their MMC/SD cards with music, and I wondered if people went for quality or quantity for their tunes on the move.

Personally I go for 48 Kbps – while on the move I find it’s hard to notice any improvements with other bitrates.

What does everyone else think?

I go for 96kbps, and it still doesn't sound like CD quality, espiecally at high notes (might be the headphones?).

The headphones are kinda dire - but for most trips 64k does me fine ;) I mostly listen to loud and fast music anyway, so it doesn't make a difference..

i just convert my MP3's to 128k WMA's because of the smaller file size.

i haven't actually tried 96k (because MP3's start getting dodgy at that bitrate) but i'll have to give it a try.

but i do have a decent pair of sony heaphones attached to it now, so i probably need the extra quality ;)

Haven't tried 48kbps but always use 64 because it's nice and small and seems good enough sound quality to me

I have been using WMA 64kbps for years and it works wonderfully on the SPV, plus I dont have to convert them. Bonus.
