Guest Matt Kirby Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Just out of interest really - I know many people fill their MMC/SD cards with music, and I wondered if people went for quality or quantity for their tunes on the move. Personally I go for 48 Kbps – while on the move I find it’s hard to notice any improvements with other bitrates. What does everyone else think?
Guest ajb3000 Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 I go for 96kbps, and it still doesn't sound like CD quality, espiecally at high notes (might be the headphones?).
Guest Emad Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 The headphones are kinda dire - but for most trips 64k does me fine ;) I mostly listen to loud and fast music anyway, so it doesn't make a difference..
Guest fozzie Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 I go for the lowest 2 pass VBR rate - 48kbps.
Guest cyrilthefish Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 i just convert my MP3's to 128k WMA's because of the smaller file size. i haven't actually tried 96k (because MP3's start getting dodgy at that bitrate) but i'll have to give it a try. but i do have a decent pair of sony heaphones attached to it now, so i probably need the extra quality ;)
Guest mrjuglas Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Haven't tried 48kbps but always use 64 because it's nice and small and seems good enough sound quality to me
Guest rhaleuk Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 I have been using WMA 64kbps for years and it works wonderfully on the SPV, plus I dont have to convert them. Bonus.
