I did the following:

Turn off the SPV.

Hold the 'Voice Memo' button down while turning on the SPV.

Press and hold the Action button (joystick middle button) for 2 seconds as

instructed.

Press 8 to select 'Erase IPSM data'.

**When it has finished doing this (it takes a while), it will say PASSED.

Press the left direction pad twice and choose 3 to close the diagostics.

** I press the left direction pad twice get to three but it is blank. Tried

pressing it and nothing. Phoned orange they said "contact microsoft", fat

lot of use. Any body any ideas?

Thanks in advance

There's no exit on that menu after the Orange Update.

Just replace battery & continue.

You have the update on the phone don't you?

That will not give you option 3, just power off as normal

Chrise: We assume that that you are doing a software update although you have only stated that you are trying a hard reset

When you say phone is dead, what are you seeing ?

The phone can take a VERY long time to boot after a hard reset. If it reaches the blue screen. I would leave it for at least 5-10 minutes.

I just answered this in another topic, and martin has answered it here please do not crosspost.

As you now have other problems hopefully these will be sorted out.

Also as suggested above try and redo the update, if you do not get any

luck also try it on another PC as mono had to do it this way before he

could sort his phone out.
