Guest drblow Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Can you not edit more than the first page of the menu? & Can I put things above the inbox/contacts ? I set my regedit the other day, and the first 3 I put in appeared under inbox/contacts/calender ... and then activesync came up, the other pages were just a jumble. Any clues?
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 You can only edit the first page .. and by my trial and error .. you can only edit the first 7 places, the rest are in alphabetical order.
Guest drblow Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Mmmm.... bummer! Have tried several different things & it seems that you are right - only the first 7 can be changed. Oh well! Thanks.
Guest Richie M Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Sorry MoRFLeZ; that aint right  Have look on Midnights Site Theres a registry tweak you can do to reorder the Start Menu ;)
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 That's the tweak we used =P .. it only works for the first 7 items on my phone tho! Of course I could call the rest of my programs 1Smart Explorer // 2SMS Tools // 3etc etc etc But I'm not really interested in that! Please correct me if you can choose the other of the 2nd // 3rd // whatnot pages...
Guest drblow Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 MoRFLez - What do you mean about calling progs 1 smart explorer etc?? How & where would you rename them? In the regedit? I would take the time to do this if its possible. Also, is there any way of moving the folders in the menu order? They always seem to come up last. and the games & accessories folders are what I use most often! Cheers.
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Unfortunately not drblow! The folders will always be last. No tweak for that (yet!?!) Well seeing the shortcuts are in alphabetical order (except the ones you tweak on the first page) .. you could name the remaining shortcuts like this: 1SOMETHING 2SOMETHINGELSE 3SOMETHINGTHIRD That way the programs will list 1 first, 2 second etc etc etc. You can just go to the Start Menu via Active Sync (IPSM//Windows//Start Menu) and rename the shortcuts. Of course you could put MOST of your shortcuts in folders, that way - maybe the folders would show up on the first page!? I don't know .. if you are organized enough, it might work...
Guest Richie M Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003  sorry MoRFLeZ, i only skimmed Midnight's page  and didn't see anything about the 7 limit; haven't bothered with it myself  Move along people there's nothing to see here ;)
Guest drblow Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 Mmmm... I tried creating folders in the start menu, nut it has no affect on the phone. The folders did not appear in the program list, and the apps I moved into them were still just in the same place on the menu. Shame, I kind of liked the idea of being able to organise the whole programs list into folders... sad git that I am!
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 You can...you'll just need to wait 5-10 mins for the Start Menu to update (or alternatively reboot, a little quicker) ;)
