...basically I tried the official unlocking procedure yesterday in the afternoon.

As it didn't work, I tried twice, but not much seemed to happen.

When I went to bed after midnight (the time midnight, not our forum

tweakster ;-) ), still nothing hat happened.

BUT when I woke up this morning, there was the confirmation message on

my screen!

So there is no reason to be desprerate if it just doesn't seem to work in 5

minutes as promised!

Yep - there's a problem with Orange's SMS carrier re. the unlock confirmation/instruction. It'll be fixed within a couple of weeks.

(whereabouts in Oxford coolboy? used to live there myself - Elms Rise, Botley, back in the bad old days ;) )

......... although 'mdawkins' over in 'Software' in the 'Keyboard - Drivers - Unlocked SPV' thread successfully unlocked his SPV OTA today using the instructions there ;)

I have just run a keyboard upgrade and then my phone i LOCKED again (arggg) and the site (official orange unlocking page is down) hummpff??

Took me 3 days to get my confirmation. By then I'd gone the V2 way! Still, 3 days later the confimation appeared on the screen. I was not even online, just reading my donloaded emails :-)

Managed mine last night no problem atall - was suprised it worked actually lol - confirmation in about 30 odd seconds also ;)

It finally worked, within 30 seconds too!!!

I have been trying all the suggestions to makew the damm thing work, but this time, it simply worked!

Yeah, I tried Action Register too.

Each time I've done it, I've ran the Action Reg app (even if it says Action Reg is already running), re-registered the phone making sure the number is in the international format +[country code][full mobile number less leading zero] with no spaces. It makes the GPRS connection then after about 15 secs & while the GPRS connection is still open, I hit the Ok button on the Orange to submit the Unlock request form (again having made sure that the mobile number is in exactly the same format as in the Action Reg app. The unlock confirmation comes through on the phone i about 15 secs.
