Sorting out GPRS problems once and for all

OK folks, time for some smart mob mentality. Maybe. 8)

As most folk will know, GPRS is more unreliable than an election promice. Personally, I've never had it working for more than two or three days. Right now it's on the blink again. I can see I'm not alone.

Is anyone willing to write an application that will attempt to make a GPRS connection and download a very small file. This would be done on a regular basis, say once a day. Each time this is done, log whether it was a success or not.

Then, at the end of the month, each one of the participants phones Orange and demands a refund for each day that it didn't work. It will light a fire under them that might actually make them interested in sorting this out. Money talks etc.

Any thoughts?
