Guest ContactBot Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Eight Ball is a call shot game played with a cue ball and fifteen balls, numbered 1 through 15. One player must pocket balls of the group numbered 1 through 7 (red balls in this version), while the other player has 9 thru 15 (cyan balls in this version). The player pocketing his group first and then pocketing the 8-ball wins the game. To buy the game or to download trial version click .... msmobiles.com
Guest Lojt Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Theres an error in this game, (well, the trial version) if you install it on your SD card, it installs the game to storage cardwindowsstart menugames, and it doesn't show up in the start menu.
Guest Playdoh Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Presumably that'll need to be fixed if they plan to pass logo certification? I thought all apps on Handango were logo'ed through the Mobile 2 Market process but perhaps not? Looks like http://www.handango.com/PlatformSoftwareSe...+for+Smartphone are the logo approved apps (how long is that URL  )
Guest midnight Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 yup, i noticed that  also, the physics are well out, and the black line not rotating properly when you hold down a direction key is real annoying, also, i think they could have given you more than 3 shots to try out the demo
Guest Simon Desser Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Yeah I found that too, I had to search for the .exe file using Smart Explorer. Another problem (at least with my phone) was that you can't come out of the game. I had to quit each time with a Task Manager :?: Is this game digitally signed? if it is, basic errors such as this, make a mockery of having apps signed to ensure quality etc
Guest midnight Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 err, press the left softkey, then back to quit (or just dont start the thing in the first place ) seems as though they havent done any testing with this game at all to be honest, theres many flaws (couldnt find all of them cos the demo version allows something like 5 shots max, and thats it, even if you restart the game)
Guest Simon Desser Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 err, press the left softkey, then back to quit I've done that, but, (ON MY PHONE) if I press back again, the games still sat there running, keep pressing back, and it just sticks on the game. So I have to press the Home key, then open a Task Manager to quit the game :!:
Guest midnight Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 ah, right, getchya, yeh, it doesnt close and upsets the back key into a loop, you are correct, another glaring bug  hehe
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Apart from all the above faults don't forget how bad the sound is  I noticed it was on PDAutilities.com will they ever have anything worth downloading? Oh well another one for the instant recycle bin. ;)
Guest midnight Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 heheh, i mentioned the bad sound (well, pretty non existent sound) on irc, just didnt mention it here, i also think the gfx suck quite badly aswell, but i would say that being a gfx artist and all, i could litterally do better gfx for the whole game in an hour
