Guest EMGenius Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Nice one on the updates, and quick too... cheers guys. quick question: is this an update; can i install over the top of V1.0, or do i need to uninstall the old one and reinstall this?
Guest MBoden Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 ehmmm, good question, you can do both, don't know what happens to uninstall info if you don't unstall version 1.0 first tho MBoden
Guest EMGenius Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 righto, uninstall it is then! I wonder if i will be able to connect first time?!... ;) any chance of re-naming the cab file in the zip, it is the same as the old one - just makes it confusing? [edit] sent first time... no issues....smashing... cheers again!
Guest TSCRYPTO Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 Are receive delays possible? I have d/l the new app and sent a message to myself about 45 mins ago. It seemed to send OK, but I have yet to receive it. And cheers guys, for acting quickly on some of the problems identified in the last few days. ;) edit: The message referred to above came through at 14.26 - a delay of close to an hour. edit2: A second message sent at 15:04 arrived at 15:04:05 :)
Guest Rob.P Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 Just installed your app, I like it a lot. One small thing though and not sure if I may have missed a thread here (I doubt it) but my credits are not going down, the good me one over the evil me hence why I'm mentioning it ;) I started off with the 130 you gave me for joining and I know I have at sent at least 4 SMS via the website and 1 via the SPV prog.
Guest bdmoore Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 Everyone gets 5 free messages when they sign up! ;)
Guest tom2 Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 How do you insert a contact - get into contacts list fine but then can't seem to get the contact chosen into planus text! Worked it out - sorry!
Guest bdmoore Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 Once you're in the contacts list, press the right soft key (Menu) and choose 'Planus SMS' ;)
Guest ajb3000 Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 You will be able to buy them soon from our website, alternatively if you have a Paypal account send me an e-mail and we'll sort something out sooner.

Guest caio1 Posted April 26, 2003 Report Posted April 26, 2003 About PlanusSMS v1.1, I think there's a bug when adding recipient from contact list: If I scroll down with the spv joystick on the right contact and then do menu->planus, the right contact is instered in planussms. But if I look for the recipient in contact list starting to writing his name and then do menu->planus, it always insert the first contact in my contact list as if I didn't type anything... Example, my contact list: AZURE BARBIE CHARLOTTE If I strart typing C - H - A I see Charlotte is highlighted then menu->planus it inserts AZURE contact!!! It's just me or is it a known bug? Thank you, Caio
Guest ajb3000 Posted April 26, 2003 Report Posted April 26, 2003 this is due to microsoft not implementing the necessary call feature to take a number out of the phonebook. we did the best we could which unfortunately means you cannot filter the phonebook, you have to scroll to the desired recipient. there is nothing that can be done about this im afraid.
Guest caio1 Posted April 26, 2003 Report Posted April 26, 2003 Ok. And what about implementing something similar to the "Add to:" function in MMS composer? Caio
Guest ajb3000 Posted April 28, 2003 Report Posted April 28, 2003 when you go to select a contact, our app just loads the contacts program on the phone, at this point you leave the planus app and only return when you select 'planus sms' after choosing a number. therefore we have no real control over the contacts list.
Guest caio1 Posted April 28, 2003 Report Posted April 28, 2003 I know, I was suggesting you to develop a routine like the one in the MMS composer to add contacts. Caio

Thank you, Caio Found a way round this, once you have used the search and it is over the selected contact, select them to go into their info then back out and it will then be able to use it in the Planus app. A good option would be once you have selected the contact and gone into their info to be able to select a number from there to go into the planus To field (hope that makes sense).
Guest ajb3000 Posted May 1, 2003 Report Posted May 1, 2003 Didn't really know where I should post this, but have you guys thought about the savings you could make when roaming? I was in switzerland yesterday, and even tho they charge £10/MB for GPRS, that equates to about 1p in data charges per SMS (as it uses ~1kb). Compare that to the 30p I would have been charged by the local networks/orange.
Guest ajb3000 Posted May 16, 2003 Report Posted May 16, 2003 New version is online, if you have any bug reports/suggestions then please paste them as soon as possible.
Guest mrjuglas Posted May 17, 2003 Report Posted May 17, 2003 Looks good, like the new icon and it's working ok for me, thanks guys :)
