Encoding Movies for the SPV

Ok peeps - this is really bugging me - ive followed all the info for encoding files to .wmv so to be able to play them on my spv but there is a problem - ive only managed to convert one and that was .avi file - looks quite nice but most of my files are .mpg's and i get an erro if i try to convert them at the screen that says input and output files the error is -

ive tried everything - it also happens with all the .avi's ive tried apart from that one that worked

ive even tried trying to get a program to convert the .mpg's to .avi's but i cant find a program that will do that easily

please please help!!!!!

P.S. ive also tried using windows media encoder 9 - which doesnt come up with the error but either bombs out or doesnt have the flexibility to compress files down to a few megs

Is your phone decertified?

If it is you may well want to look into Pocket Divx. Download it from my site and take a look at the various encoding help threads around here ;)

the phone is de-certified

i have d/loaded the divx player for the spv - what other software would i need to try and encode for that and where can i get it or them???

There is a free trial DL of a program called OSS media converter pro - which I have used to convert .mpeg & .avi to .wmv (only a 30 day trial or something - or you could buy it! :wink: )

I cant remember the specific url - I found it on a google search.

However, like Mono says, if your phone is decerted the pocket divx gives you much better movie size & quality.
