SPV pain in Spain

Part of the problem, it must be admitted, is Microsoft. I'm using an XP notebook, and a Windows Powered Orange SPV phone. But Microsoft, it seems, has never really understood serial communications.

Please note: author of this text - Guy Kewney - is a professional journalist and not just a blogger - he got his SPV from Microsoft during Mobius event......

What a pointless article Guy Kewney has written there!

Sure, the mobile networks in Spain aren't as robust as over here in the UK, so what?

I just got back from Madrid and in my time there used three operators; Movistar, Amena and Airtel. Amena often refused to send SMS, and Airtel disappeared on a regular occasion.

The point is - when you're roaming you pays your money and you takes your chance. If Mr Kewney was really serious about working from Spain he'd have stopped in a hotel with a network connection.

It seems Mr Kewney just wanted a rant - I assume he must be used to getting the moon on a stick...

Ring Orange Customer Services and ask to activate roaming on your account.
