Guest Paul [MVP] Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 Ah, the joys of finally being over 25 ;) P
Guest midnight Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 yeh, thats gonna be a bit expensive on insurance and fuel hehe want my spv in lambourghini titanium silver now
Guest superkingdave Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 i can dream of one in five to ten years time now they have brought out a new updated one that looks even more beautiful. mmm... that and holly valance
Guest midnight Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 hmmm, you mean the Ford GT90, or the Ford Indigo. both are concept cars of course, but kick ass all the same, the gt90 has a reported top speed of around 240mph
Guest superkingdave Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 saw it on top gear a while ago... was just a gt40 whith a couple of minor cosmetic changes. apparently on sale in america in september for about one fifty k dollars. no plans to bring it to uk. always import though...
Guest midnight Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 minor cosmetic changes????? er no ;) its a completely different car, and if you wanna see my favourite car at the moment..... check this baby out
Guest bdmoore Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 Now that is what I call a car!! *starts dreaming...* ;)
Guest superkingdave Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 midnight check out this page www.gt40club.clara.net/gt40conceptA.htm and www.gearheadracing.com/Reference/FordGT40.htm i think they look very like the original
Guest superkingdave Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 ps i saw the mustang in the sunday times driving section and i have to say it looks awesome ;)
Guest midnight Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 yeh, but those are the gt40, not the gt90. the gt90 is a quad turbo engine, basically two v6's welded together, completely different car in every respect. the gt40 concept is just a remake of the original really. It will never see production, but they did full testing in the hope of entering lemans, but they scrapped the idea, dunno why, looks weird, but kinda cool. But i prefer the indigo, its like having a formula 1 can on the road, very space age. if you look, i posted those as links, check em out
Guest Matt Whitfield Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 Sorry guys, if you want an ultimate dream car, there is only one... the Bugatti Veyron. 7,993-cc, quad turbo, W16, with 1001BHP and 922lb/ft torque. It goes, um... 252MPH and will reach 186MPH in, wait for it........ 14 seconds!!!!!. The ultimate super car...
Guest adam Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 With an ultimate super price of three quarters of a million! hmmm £750 per BHP!
Guest Matt Whitfield Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 Yeah, admittedly the price is somewhat less attractive than the car... :-(
Guest midnight Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 that why i prefer muscle cars like the mustang
Guest superkingdave Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 midnight ford have already announced that the new gt40 will be produced as part of their one hundred years celebration. production is to start this summer although as i said i think it will only be available in america. although the new car looks almost exactly like the old car it is in fact longer and higher so the 40 part will no longer refer to the height. ill see if i can find any ford press releases about it. by the way for sheer excessiveness nothing beats a tvr speed twelve ;)
Guest siu99spj Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 N'ah you guys got it ALL wrong... This is what you want: http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/frame.mv?fi...car.mv&num=1581  This is estimated to do 0-60 in 2.5s and OVER 300  Mind you, for those kind of specs you'd need to be superglued to the bike ;)
Guest Gorskar Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 erm yes. Imagine coming off the bike at 400mph - not pretty.
