SPV as a USB modem

Ok i have been using my spv connected to my pc as a modem, to get connected to the internet.

Upon connecting to the internet i realised the speed was terrible. Now i am fully aware that the phone is slow as hell anyway and it connecting to the pocket internet explorer is slow but, this is bad!

The reason that it is so bad that it is even slower than the phone when it connects through pocket explorer. When i use the internet on the phone and then on the pc i see that the phone is a bit faster, and noticibly better too.

Is there a way that the phone when connected to the pc can be made faster to surf the internet. Any tools or techniques that can either boosts the phone, or the pc, or the usb connection....anything!

Help in this would be deaply appreciated.

Not really. I've only used the USB modem to test it works and to test the speed (and once when my 2meg adsl died, what a shocker that was), my GPRS clocks in at an impressive 20k/s on average.

The GPRS speed depends on the GPRS signal strength (not call signal strength). Max theoretic is 41kb/s down, 9kb/s down (b = bits btw...). So you arent looking at getting anything better than normal dialup...
