New bug/problem with the sd card?

I just uninstalled smartexplorer to install the new version, and when i went to browse my sd card, there was alot of files in the program files folder called @@@@something or so.

I took out my sd card and put it back in, since that usually helps on most sd card problems, but when i put it back in, i had lost alot of folders in my program files folder... :|

I tried restarting, but the missing folders still wont show up... :|

That happened to me once, but it was after I dropped my SPV  The SD card was reduced to garbage, and I had to format it and start again (WinHex - I love you! ;))

Yeah, i would figure it would need a format, it would just take forever to copy all my stuff to my pc... or to reinstall all my progs and games :|

It's an absolute pain I agree ;) It took me most of an afternoon to sort out my trashed SD, but at least WinHex's file recovery meant I didn't lose the stuff I hadn't backed up!

Well, at least you have a card reader... i have to copy all my stuff through the phone... :|

a couple of times inserting and then removing the card again usually solves this for me.. that amd a reboot...

Funny thing

When i got an sms yesterday i just said a "@#%¤ sound.

I got worried and looked at my sd card. All my folders and files had weird names like "_*^?%¤¤#%"

I removed my card and put it back in and i worked fine. However i have never seen that before. Have no idea what it was.

Well, i had to restore all the folders manually.... it didn't help to remove/insert the card alot of times... :|

Happened to me. First it was just a reinsert trick that solved the weird-named folders but then on one lovely day it decided to loose some of the subfolders in program files... I noticed that WMP usually gave me a message 'File cannot be found....etc' before I got the trashed SD contents..

But it would work fine after reinsert. Then I had a suspicion that it is WinHex that's responsible for this - it would sometimes give me an error message like 'An attempt was made to move the cursor before 0 sector of the drive' or something. It would backup and restore ok. So I decided to copy all to my PC (after restoring my SD o'course - it was a pain!!), then format SD and copy things back. I had 2 replacements as far as I remember, but I never had a problem since then...
